Sophomore transfer

Subject:
Is this really all JMU greek life has to offer?

Poster Message:
Hey everyone, I’m transferring to JMU as a sophomore and planning to rush soon, so I’ve been digging through the threads and sites to get a feel for the different houses. Honestly? It’s pretty disappointing. Reading the same, tired "who's top rank" arguments over and over is honestly painful. It makes the whole greek scene look pretty stupid and honestly kind of pathetic. If that’s all we’re leading with, we aren't exactly doing a great job of selling ourselves. Real men are way more interested in the stuff that actually matters. Where are the posts about chapters doing real work in Harrisonburg? Who’s actually building a brotherhood that isn’t just about clout, but about supporting guys through classes and life? And regarding the social scene, real guys are looking to meet women who are actually cool, driven, and fun to be around—not just the usual hookup drama, we want to connect with sororities that have substance and are actually worth spending time with. JMU has a ton of potential, but we can do a lot better than the current online vibe. Are there any houses actually focused on doing something that matters, or is the posturing all there is? Would love to hear from guys who are actually about that life.
